Capturing April & Taylor’s Beautiful Family Story
I’ve known April since our high school days and through college, but as life often does, it eventually took us on different paths. We hadn’t connected in quite some time, so when she reached out and asked me to photograph her family, I didn’t hesitate for a second—it was an immediate and enthusiastic yes!
Not only was this session special because of our friendship, but also because of the location: the Desert Botanical Garden. This spot holds incredible meaning for April and Taylor, as it’s the very place where they said “I do.” Coming back here, now as a family of three, made the session all the more beautiful and full-circle.
Meeting their sweet son for the first time—and getting to celebrate his very first birthday with a photo session—was such a joy. Seeing April and Taylor together as parents reminded me why they’ve always been such a special couple, and it truly felt like no time had passed at all since we last connected.
I’m so honored to have captured these precious moments for them. Photographing friends who hold such a dear place in my heart is one of the greatest gifts of what I do.
