Last week, my husband Robbie, Annalise, and I traveled to Houston for one of his work trips. The moment he mentioned it, my eyes lit up—because I knew exactly what that meant for me: we’d finally get to see our amazing friends, Kaylae and Eric.

You might recognize this beautiful couple because Robbie and I had the honor of photographing their wedding back in May. Normally, I also get to do an engagement session with my couples, but since Kaylae and Eric live out of state, we didn’t have that chance… until now!

We had originally planned for a gorgeous session at an arboretum, but when the Texas rain decided to join us, we pivoted and ended up at the Cockerel Butterfly Center —and honestly, I think it was meant to be. The lush greenery, vibrant butterflies, and soft indoor lighting created an incredible backdrop that felt almost magical. Also thank you to Kaylae for insisting on taking some photos of Robbie, Annalise, and I as well!

Kaylae and Eric, thank you for being such gracious hosts and even better friends. Thank you to Kaylae for insisting on taking some photos of Robbie, Annalise, and I as well and Eric for holding ALL the bags!

You two are truly irreplaceable, and we had so much fun spending time with you. I feel so grateful to capture these moments in your story, rain or shine!
